Community Resource Bereavement Directory

Navigating end of life and grief from loss can be overwhelming and stressful. The Bereavement Network Resources of Sacramento maintains a list of valuable resources for Sacramento and surrounding counties. Our hope is that this directory will help guide you in where to start working through not only the grief process, but also the realistic needs of dealing with loss.

Funeral

Many decisions need to be made at the time of death. Will there be cremation, or burial? Will there be a wake and funeral, or a memorial service with video? Will it be a green burial? Our directory lists organizations that can guide you in your choices.

Talk Therapy

A support group may be perfect for you, or you may need one-on-one sessions with an individual therapist or counselor to help you navigate your loss. You can find a list of organizations and individuals that specialize in grief support.

Hospice

When a doctor certifies a patient has a terminal illness of 6 months or less, hospice can step in to be a great relief and resource to the family. A list of organizations for critical care is included in our directory and is a great place to start.

Ancillary Services

An End of Life Doula to help a family through some of the toughest moments, a videographer to help preserve and create memories, a caregiver to provide respite, a trust lawyer to simplify distribution of the estate are some of the other services listed.
