Gender & Grief Seminar

For most males and females who experience the death of a loved one, the impact and especially the expression of mourning can be so drastically different. Cultural scripts often determine a path that contains expectation on how one expresses feelings, behaviors they engage in, and accepting of support. Males attempt to master and control grief responses because of their perceived cultural expectations.

This seminar will examine how masculinity and femininity influence the ways each group engages with the mourning journey.
