DESCRIPTION:Learning the basics of making fermented tea. \nFacilitated by: Jill Batiansila \nKombucha is a bubbly\, probiotic-rich drink made by fermenting sweetened tea (usually black or green tea). It has been consumed since around 220 B.C. It is packed with vitamins and antioxidants. It contains about 1-2 milligrams of caffeine per ounce or 10-15 milligrams per 8 fluid ounces. (1/3 the amount in one cup of black tea) It is made using tea\, sugar and a culture of beneficial bacteria and yeast. (SCOBY) \nKombucha tea is made with tea\, sugar\, bacteria and yeast. To make the drink\, bacteria and yeast must first grow together to form a culture. The culture is added to the sugar and tea. Then the mix is allowed to ferment. The end result is a liquid that has vinegar\, B vitamins and many other types of acids\, including amino acids. \nKombucha is a probiotic\, which means it has living microorganisms in it. Once consumed\, these microorganisms may take up residence in your gut and can benefit your health. \nIf you have any health concerns\, please ask your doctor if consuming Kombucha is right for you. \n*There is a nominal amount of alcohol in Kombucha. \n$20 per person \nClick to Register

Having emotions is part of being a human being and it’s normal to have them. \nThe way we react or feel towards events or circumstances can have a huge impact in the way we deal with other people\, and to a greater extent\, the way we live our lives. But just because this is a reality\, doesn’t mean there is nothing we can do about it. In this workshop\, we discuss healthy ways to manage and process your feelings. \nAll you need to bring is yourself\, in whatever emotional state you may be at that moment. This presentation explores the emotional landscape of those who make the difficult decision to distance themselves\, as well as the profound impact on those who find themselves unexpectedly on the receiving end of estrangement. \nThrough a compassionate and trauma informed lens\, we examine the reasons behind the choice of estrangement\, the possible myriad of emotions both parties experience\, and the potential avenues for healing and reconciliation.
